On December 24, 2007 Union of Agrarian Youth had its general meeting at which the results of its activities in the year 2007 were summed up. As it was underlined, the most important events in these activities were the annual agricultural festival wnich was held in Khorol, participation in Grow Abroad Conference in Australia, organisation of a trip of representatives of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine to Denmark. Apart from it, its members took part in some other seminars and meetings.
CHRISTMAS, WHICH TAKES ITS NAME from Christ's Mass, was first celebrated on various dates from about 200 A.D. but was finally set on December 25 by Bishop Liberus of Rome in 354 A.D. The December date, which almost coincides with the winter solstice, became a popular festival of West Europe during the Middle Ages. But as late as the nineteenth century, Christmas celebration was suppressed in Scotland and New England because of some religious differences.
Lately the Union of Agrarian Youth experienced an important event. Its Deputy Chairman Mykola Andrienko took part in the annual world’s Grow Abroad 2007 Conference which was held in Australia and was under way from the 14-th till the 31-st of October 2007. It was dedicated to the problems of youth training abroad, exchange of experience in this field in the branch of agriculture.
Всесвітньо-відома виставка Агромек в 2008 році пройде двічі - з 15 по 19 січня, та в період з 25 по 29 листопада. В подальшому, організатори проводитимуть виставку щорічно в кінці листопада.
