In Autumn 2004 Union of Agrarian Youth became and initiator of organization of the first agricultural festival in Ukraine “The Best by Profession” at Maslivka P.Kh. Garkavyy State Agrarian College.
The idea of holding of youth festival, where different teams of agricultural schools would take part, came to our partners in Denmark. Such kind of cultural events always unite young people, make them love agriculture, farming, etc. Maslivka State Agrarian College was the co-organizer of the event, offered a hostel for guests and participants, grounds for holding sports football, volleyball, tennis, tug-of-war competitions. Also, students teams competed in plough works, driving tractors, other agricultural contests. During the festival the guests and the participants were offered lunch, and at the end – rewarding the winners in different contests and festive banquette. The festival was appreciated not only by students, guests and participants. The representatives of local and regional government authorities, heads of regional organizations and even guests from abroad were invited to the festival. This time only teams from three agrarian colleges took place in the festival, Maslivka, Shevchenkove and Talyanky agrarian colleges. But, next year, we are sure, there will be more volunteers. Today, the administrations of Talyanky and Shevchenkove colleges offered to hold the next festival at their college-base. |
